The challengeThe patient is more
than the presenting symptom.

Medical history, medications, allergies, occupation, environment, travel and changes in everyday life can influence a clinical question. Relevant information is often scattered, incomplete or difficult to bring into the consultation.

We are developing a Clinical Decision Engine to organise that context, support evidence-based exploration and make information gaps visible to the clinician.

The connected viewWhat the initiative explores.

Patient context, connected

Design for longitudinal history alongside travel, lifestyle, occupation and other relevant influences.

Evidence-informed possibilities

Explore possible explanations and pathways with an explicit view of supporting evidence and uncertainty.

Questions that close gaps

Help identify missing information that could change the clinical assessment.

Clinician-led integration

Plan for use within clinical workflows and HMIS integrations, with the clinician retaining responsibility.

In the flow of workFrom a question
to an informed next step.

Illustrative design workflow

  1. 01
    Frame the clinical question

Organise the presenting concerns and available patient information.

  2. 02
    Consider the wider context

Bring relevant history and contextual influences into view.

  3. 03
    Examine possibilities

Explore evidence, alternative pathways, uncertainty and missing information.

  4. 04
    Support clinician judgment

The clinician evaluates the information and determines the appropriate course.

This is an initiative in development. Clinical validation, safety evaluation and applicable approvals are required before clinical use. No claim of diagnostic accuracy or readiness is made.
